About Me

Welcome to Hilltop Hypnotherapy and HypnoBirthing

(Laura Yates BA (Hons) DipHyp)

I’m an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist and Hypnobirthing Practitioner who helps clients to lead a calmer life whilst tackling stressful situations with ease.

A serious car accident at the age of 18 left me having to overcome serious injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and managing lifelong chronic pain. Determined to ensure positive outcomes came from such a life changing experience, I embarked on a journey which eventually led to experiencing the truly life changing effects of hypnotherapy and later Hypnobirthing. After years of study and experience I set up Hilltop Hypnotherapy and Hypnobirthing with the aim of helping and passing the skills that changed my own life onto others.

Using a variety of coaching techniques, hypnotherapy, and tools to focus attention on unhelpful subconscious thoughts and patterns I help you to move forward and make the changes you want. Over the last 9 years I’ve helped many clients to tackle phobias, manage chronic pain and anxiety as well as lots of parents to feel confident and birth calmly and gently.

A fully qualified hypnotherapist and member of the Hypnotherapy Association, I trained with the South West School of Clinical Hypnotherapy and gained both a Certificate in Hypnotherapy and a Diploma (DipHyp) in Clinical Hypnotherapy. In 2008, I trained as a Childbirth Educator and HypnoBirthing Practitioner with HypnoBirthing International. (The Mongan Method) and run popular group hypnobirthing courses as well as individual group HypnoBirthing and antenatal sessions. I’m also trained in ASIST (Suicide First Aid), Mental Health First Aid and Counselling Skills.
