Using guided meditation and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness (sometimes called a trance), it is in this naturally occurring state that a person may focus his or her attention, with the help of a trained therapist, on specific thoughts or tasks. Anxiety and relaxation cannot co-exist which makes hypnotherapy for anxiety so helpful.
What does it involve?
Treatment begins with our first consultation, during which I’ll take detailed notes and follow this up with a personalised plan for treatment. The following sessions will include clinical hypnotherapy and teaching you simple techniques to manage your anxiety and get out of the negative anxious thinking cycle.
I’ll teach you powerful breathing exercises, help to transform negative thoughts and how to switch off hypervigilence. You will also be given powerful relaxation techniques to practise on a regular basis along with your own CD/MP3 to take away and listen to at home.
